Stacey Wilkerson

Stacey Wilkerson has worked in the field of student affairs for nearly 17 years in the fields of first year experience, Title IX, retention, student success, service-learning, crisis management, family programs, and large-scale programming. Her research interests include college access for historically underrepresented populations, pre-college programs, and first-generation students and families. 

In her role as Chief of Staff, she collaborates and consults with the Vice President for Strategic Affairs and Diversity and uplifts current initiatives and foster new ones that advance diversity, equity, inclusivity, and social justice.

She also directly works with the Vice President in her work with deans, senior leaders, and campus constituencies in the creation and implementation of an institutional diversity strategic plan premised on recruitment and support of student/staff/faculty recruitment, training, communication, policy, and metrics. Stacey also oversees staffing, personnel, and financial matters.

Stacey holds a B.A. in English and an M.S. in Community and College Counseling from Longwood University. Stacey plans to finish her Ph.D. in Virginia Tech's Higher Education Administration program in 2020.
