Student Affairs: Call for proposals for fall 2026 Living-Learning Programs
Student Affairs and the Office of Living-Learning Programs invites faculty and departments to submit a Living-Learning Program (LLP) proposal for communities that will launch for the fall 2026 semester. LLPs are intentional communities at Virginia Tech where students make powerful connections between their academic and residential environments.
LLPs are a highly effective way for faculty to enact innovative pedagogy and create an environment that helps students make the most of their experience at Virginia Tech. In LLPs, students integrate their intellectual life with where they live, who they live with, and how they make meaning of their university experience.
Faculty interested in submitting a proposal are encouraged to register for an information session on October 7 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. (in-person) or October 22 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. (via Zoom). To ensure enough time to launch high quality programs, proposals must be received by November 4. Final selection notifications will be sent to applicants by December 3.
For more information and to register for an information session, read this campus notice, visit the LLP Program proposals website, or email Jamie Penven.
Arts@VirginiaTech: Diverse Voices and Perspectives Lecture Series accepting funding applications
Virginia Tech’s Diverse Voices and Perspectives Lecture Series (formerly the Women and Minority Artists and Scholars Lecture Series) is now accepting applications for funding for spring 2025. The series is designed to promote the number and diversity of scholarly voices and artistic expressions from underrepresented communities by providing funding assistance for Virginia Tech departments and units.
With support from Arts@VirginiaTech and the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, the program provides up to $750 in funds to support events and experiences that provide students with opportunities to interact with guest lecturers or artists to increase their access to successful women and minority role models.
Invited speakers may be from any discipline, gender, race, or ethnicity. Invitations to speakers whose scholarship incorporates race, gender, class, or international perspectives are especially encouraged.
The deadline to apply is Friday, November 1.
For more information or to submit an application, read this campus notice or visit the Diverse Voices and Perspectives Lecture Series webpage.
